It’s difficult to even think about joblessness. The reality is that no one in the country is unemployed. Unemployment is not a thing. No one is working at McDonald’s. No one is on the unemployment line. Most people are not unemployed.
The unemployment rate is very high in most parts of the country, and it’s not particularly good for people living in the low-income housing or working-class housing. But it’s not so bad as it might seem. Unemployment in the United States is 3 percent, and the rate is about one-third lower than the rate in most parts of the world.
