I am not the most eloquent writer, but I had a great day today. The kids at school are all gone, and my friend Lisa was here and we had a blast. We started with some dinner, and then we got the kids out the door and went to the playground. We had a good time and I think it helped me to realize that I’m not the only one who can do this.
It is true that we have gotten a lot of things done for the kids lately, but it’s also a sign of the difficulties we face in the world we live in that I’m not sure the kids like to play in the park alone. I know it’s a little bit of a problem for me too, but I don’t want to let them down.
We had a great time playing games and reading stories and then it was time for bed. I think it helped me to realize that Im not the only one who can do this. I just try to do it in smaller doses and see how it goes.
It helps that the kids take part in a wide range of activities and are on the way to a whole new world. With that said, I know it’s hard to be a parent when you have to share your life with kids who could end up being the next generation of terrorists, but I hope that you feel the same way and that you can do this as a family.
