Megyn Kelly, former anchor of “The Kelly File,” and NBC News’s “Today” show, joins me on “Good Morning America” to talk about the dangers of internet stalking.
Not only has Kelly been stalked herself, but now she is running for office and you can add “stalking” to the list of “things that might get me elected.” The problem for Kelly is that she’s got a lot of baggage, including a history of sexual harassment cases and a well-documented hatred of the press. She’s also been accused of racism and sexism, and she’s running against the New York City mayor.
This is a great video, but it’s not what we were hoping for. It’s in the form of a clip of a guy on the street with a friend, who says to me, “It’s been a really hard time in my life, but I’m pretty good at getting things done.” This kind of talk is definitely not what we hoped for.
Are you sure on this? The guy is from a long-standing family of a certain race, and this is why we’re getting to know him a lot. He is a very smart, smart kid, but his parents were very upset when he was born, so they didn’t want to put him in jail and throw him in a pool somewhere. He has made a lot of mistakes, but we can see that it’s a good thing for him.
We are very serious about this interview. We are going to be taking a lot of questions from the public. We don’t want to just do a quick interview. It needs time to build up trust. For him to be able to talk about his childhood and his upbringing, we need to establish some kind of relationship there. This is not just a quick interview. Its going to be a long one.
The big question for us is how to get past it. We want to figure out how to get past the simple mistakes that we’ve made. If we don’t have our own way, then we have to get a new one.
