I always enjoy a good reddit mati. There’s no shortage of good ones out there. I just prefer the ones that are made by local crafters and not “vintage” ones that are a dime a dozen.
With the resurgence of craftspeople buying and selling their wares in the greater Seattle area, its nice to see some of these new artisanal, locally-made mati’s pop up. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a good one at the West Seattle Farmers Market. The mati looks great and the colors, patterns, and materials are absolutely gorgeous. I had a great time looking at it too. I can’t recommend it enough.
The main reason why I like a mati is because of its visual appeal. While my friends are all in this world, I have no idea why they’d like to see a mati and have it available to them. The way it opens up the store is so much better than it sounds.
