The reason for this sad state of affairs is that the paper is basically a gossip column, filled with juicy stories about people in the community. But today, the newspaper has become such a wasteland of negativity that it isn’t even possible to get a decent story out of it. It is full of negative rumors and gossip, but the stories never get printed because a few bad apples are too much for the editor to tolerate.
