We are reminded of the great weather all of the time here in the region due to the amount of tourism. When it is cold, we get the best snow of the year. When it is hot, we get the best summer of the year.
A number of years ago, the sun was visible through the water at a distance of a mile or two, so it wasn’t as if there was a large snow that had fallen on every surface. This year, it may have been.
As it turns out, the sun has been visible through the water at a distance of a mile or two for quite some time now, so its not that big of a stretch to say the skies are filled with some sort of giant snowfall. There is only one way to find out for sure though, and that is to check the weather station from Malvern. We’ll probably have to wait until this weekend for the answer though.
As far as we know, there are no other weather stations in and around the area, but it could be that the weather station is just a bit less accurate. However, it wouldn’t be the first time that the weather station has been in error in a long time.
I have to admit when it comes to weather, I don’t really pay a lot of it much attention. The idea of a big snowfall in the winter time, though it sounds like it is happening, is not one of my favorites. I always had a hard time believing that people actually went outside and didn’t just go for a dip. It seems that they just went for a walk. I guess I’ll find out next week.
In the future, we can expect the weather to become more accurate, but we won’t see it for a while. I think this is because we have a very big solar system that would be able to handle such a massive snowfall and also because if there is a big storm, the ice will melt and make it impossible for satellites to find us. It wouldnt be the first time weve had to go without a satellite signal so I am sure it will happen again.
I know it seems like an incredibly obvious statement, but the truth is that no, we have not seen ice in a while. I am not sure if you have seen the ice on the ocean front in New England or not, but the picture above is a satellite image of the area last month. If you have, you can see that the ice is actually quite a bit thicker in places.
It also seems like weve had some fairly cold weather recently, with temperatures in the 60s in March and April. This trend is expected to continue into May and possibly even into June, as the arctic air mass continues to weaken and the summer months are becoming milder.
It’s worth noting that ice is one of the least efficient forms of heat storage in the world. Even in this coldest months of the year in the arctic, the ice layer is still melting fast. So in this case, the melting will likely be less than the arctic air mass.
The last time I think the arctic air mass was this cold was back in February, and it felt like a winter wonderland in there for a while. The arctic air mass is still melting at a rate of about 7 million cubic feet per day, which is much faster than the rest of the atmosphere.
